ECS Controls expands its operation into southwest Virginia. As a master distributor for the KMC product line, we have partnered with HTF Mechanical Services, Inc. to expand our reach into the Roanoke, Virginia territory. HTF Mechanical Services has been appointed as an Associate Authorized Installing Contractor for the assigned territory to better promote and affect the sale, installation and service of KMC Controls. ECS Controls will provide the support system needed to assist HTF Mechanical Services in integrating mechanical equipment using KMC network building controls. As a master distributor for KMC Controls, we are actively seeking other Associates to partner with throughout the Virginia and eastern Maryland areas.

Warwick Air Conditioning, Inc. partners with ECS Controls to provide environmental controls for Warwick Forrest Retirement Community in the Denbigh area of Newport News , Virginia . Warwick Forest is becoming a brand new community through the biggest expansion in their history. They are expanding their existing campus to include several beautiful 3-story Apartment Buildings and a Community Center that includes luxury dining, a large heated indoor pool and recreation center, activity rooms, a library and a variety of gathering places. The expansion will also include a new Administration Wing and additions to their existing skilled nursing area. The control system will be a combination of conventional and BACnet “open protocol” direct digital controls. The entire project will take approximately three years to complete.

The City of Hampton awards $105K contract to ECS Controls, Inc. to install new Varible Frequency Drives and Air Handling Unit Fan Motors at Pheobus High School. The contract will complete within 75 days.

 

May 30, 2006
ECS Controls successfully completes a $330K contract on the Chambers Field AIMD Consolidated Facility at Naval Station, Norfolk , Virginia. A web-base direct digital control system was installed to control 2 Chiller, 2 Cooling Towers, 3 Boilers, 10 Pumps, 25 Air Handling Units, 93 Fan Powered VAV Boxes and some 50 other various HAVC units. The project took two years to complete and consisted of over 7500 DDC programmable points.

The new Charles City County Courthouse is now being controlled by an HVAC KMDigital DDC System and a Silent Knight addressable Fire Alarm System. Both systems were installed and programmed by ECS Controls, Inc. This now provides the Charles City County staff with one direct source to contact for assistance in maintaining building HVAC and Fire Alarm operations. Over the past several years, Charles City County has replaced their existing Alerton DDC system with KMDigital controls in other Government complex buildings and within their sewage pumping stations for remote alarm indication.

London Bridge Baptist Church decides to renew its PM Contract with ECS Controls. After a though review of ECS's qualifications, past performance and current service rates, ECS Controls continues to earn the confidence of London Bridge Baptist Church for maintaining their HVAC equipment.

ECS Controls has been awarded a PM contract for newly renovated Hawthorn Hotel and Suite in downtown Portsmouth to prepare their HVAC equipment for the summer cooling season. With its prime location in the middle of the Olde Towne business district, the Hawthorn Hotel has brought back to life, the Governor Dinwiddie Hotel at High and Dinwiddie Streets, a downtown beacon of social and civic life from the 1940s through the 1960s. The new hotel is referred to as the Hawthorn Hotel & Suites at The Governor Dinwiddie. Work consist of a though inspection and repair of 74 split system units.

The City of Poquoson goes BACnet open protocol! ECS Controls is presently replacing the Siemens proprietary DDC system with open system technology solutions. The new system will give the City of Poquoson a non-proprietary control system which will stop the rising cost of maintaining a sole sourced proprietary system and allow for future competitive bidding for controls and service work. There will be "no strings attached" to their new system.

ECS Controls prepares to begin work on the Harbor Heights in downtown Norfolk , Virginia. The project will take place along Boush Street between College Place and Tazewell Street amid the redevelopment and revitalization already gracing this historic city. Harbor Heights will offer luxury condominium and loft residences atop the unique GW Market, an urban shopping experience like no other in downtown. The control system will be a combination of conventional and direct digital controls. The project is estimated to complete in early 2007.

 

January 13, 2006
ECS Controls receives final approval from M. A. Mortenson Company to install BACnet open system technology at Norfolk Naval Shipyard's Lifting and Handling facility. The BACnet system will be manufactured by KMC Controls, Inc. and will consist of 406 DDC input Points and 312 DDC output points. The project is estimated to complete in October 2006 and should "break the lock" on Siemens base-wide proprietary system.

 

January 13, 2006
ECS Controls completes installation of a new Card Access Control System for Indian Cove Resort, a five star resort for time share campsites located only two minutes from Atlantic Ocean at prestigious Sandbridge Beach. The Access Control System is manufactured by KeyScan, Inc. and is capable of monitoring up to 3400 individual cards with onsite and offsite monitoring.
