Why you should invest in an
ECS Comfort Control System

Commercially available Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) systems were first designed to provide comfort using automatic means of operation rather than a manual mode of operation. ATC systems have gone through several phases over the last fifty years. It began with the use of electric controls then switched to the affordability of pneumatic controls and later to electronic controls once the price for electronic devices fell into line. Today, we normally see a combination of electric and electronic controls used in ATC systems when DDC technology is not an option. Pneumatic controls are slowly being phased out. However, there are many existing building control systems that require knowledgeable expertise for interfacing new technologies into existing pneumatic, electric and electronic control systems. ECS Controls has the technical knowledge for providing this type of interface and understands that we must give our customers the ability to not only use their existing ATC system which has provided them with reliable comfort control, but we also must offer them a migrating path for expanding their system to the newer technology.

We understand that there is a fine line between comfort and saving energy. At ECS Controls, we fully realize the first step is feeling comfortable in your environment which directly relates to occupant productivity. An ATC system without DDC technology is a common way to ensure a consistent and some what efficient method of providing comfort while restrained to a tight budget. Energy savings often becomes a secondary cost avoidance requirement for future consideration. We have found that there are many design engineers that believe an ATC system without DDC technology does not require a large investment to obtain comfort results and therefore only specifies a basic ATC system. However, when developing a basic ATC system, we encourage them to use programmable thermostats as a minimum to achieve both comfort and minimum energy savings. Depending on the ATC application, w e offer a wide variety of basic control devices and programmable thermostats at affordable pricing. We also consider the current features and benefits of these devices for future capability in providing additional energy savings, remote diagnostics and access to open standards. This will allow our customers to obtain a Comfort Control System today with 21 st century technology features for tomorrow.
