Convenient Location
Our office is located in the center of south Hampton Roads just off interstate 64 at the Indian River Road exit. We are adjacent to an elementary school, two day care centers and a 7-11 convenience store.

ECS Controls has a casual business atmosphere. We offer both a professional and stable working environment as well as a drug free work place.

Employee Activities
We provide company sponsored social events. These events normally include a family summer activity or pool party and a Christmas holiday social. The company also provides several warehouse cookouts during the workday lunchtime through out the year.

Holidays
Full time exempt employees (salaried positions), when required, are expected to work past a forty (40) hour week without additional compensation and therefore are entitled to receive eight (6) paid holidays. They are: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Full time nonexempt employees (hourly positions) who work government scale contracts are entitled to these paid holidays through their government provided fringe benefit package. Full time nonexempt employees who do not qualify to receive government scale pay but are required to be available for after hour on-call service and weekend on-call service are entitled to these paid holidays. Part time employees will receive time off without pay.

Perfect Attendance Holiday
Full time employees can receive one additional paid holiday on New Years Eve if they have a perfect attendance during the calendar year. To qualify they must not use any personal time off other than their universal leave time.

Employee Birthday Holiday
All employees are allowed to take time off without pay for their birthday or receive a relaxed workday policy. Perfect attendance holiday is not affected by this time off.

Universal Leave
All full-time employees will receive a up to fifteen days of Universal Leave that is to be used for vacation time and sick time off. The amount of Universal Leave available is based on the employees' continuous employment with the company and the hire or anniversary date of the employee. The Universal Leave time is applicable and available to all full-time employees provided they maintain good work ethics in support of the company's mission “Quality Service at Our Highest Potential." Part time employees can receive one week off without pay provided there has been twelve previous months of continuous service Each full time nonexempt employees (hourly positions) who works on government contracts becomes eligible for Universal Leave through their government provided fringe benefit package and will have these fringes offset by the qualified benefits offered by the company. Universal Leave is scheduled through the office manager and approved in advance so critical employees do not schedule time-off at the same time. We want you to have a time-off each year; therefore Universal Leave cannot be accumulated from one year to the next. Universal Leave of more than a day will not be paid unless requested in advance and approved by office manager. Each employee is important to the company overall success. Therefore, their presence on the job is thus similarly important. While company Universal Leave for sickness is provided, it is to be used only when absence is unavoidable due to illness. To qualify for a paid Universal Leave while sick, employees are required to provide documentation from a physician in writing if you are sick for more than a day in order to be paid for time missed beyond the first day. To be properly granted leave during this time, the employee or a family member must call the office each morning prior to 8:00 a.m. The following will explain how and when Universal Leave will become available to use: During the first year of employment the employee will not receive Universal Leave time. Beginning the second year, of continuous employment, the employee will receive five days of Universal Leave. Beginning the third year, of continuous employment, the employee will receive ten days of Universal Leave. Beginning the fourth through the eighth year, of continuous employment, the employee will receive one additional day, per date of hire, of Universal Leave up to a maximum of fifteen days. The employee may receive payment of unused Universal Leave up to fifteen days upon separation from the company. Payment to the employee shall be in installments equal to the employees wage based on a forty-hour workweek until all funds are disbursed. No contribution matching will be made to benefits such as, but not limited to, 401-k, health insurance, Short and Long Term Disability. The employee will not receive payment for any unused Universal Leave time if they have been terminated from the company for gross offenses such as, but not limited to; sexual harassment, discrimination, theft, fraud, fighting, failure to return company equipment and vehicle abuse.

Disability Leave
All full time employees are allowed six weeks unpaid leave post-disability. However, the employee must use any available Universal Leave toward this time period.

Maternity Leave
All full time employees are allowed six weeks unpaid leave post-delivery. However, the employee must schedule their Universal Leave toward this time period.

Individual Emergency Leave
Each emergency situation will be treated on an individual basis.

Weather Emergencies Leave
If emergency closings are issued and the office does not open or must close early, full time exempt employees (salaried positions) normal working hours will be paid. However, it is required that the hours are gradually made up within thirty (30) days. Full time nonexempt employees will receive time off without pay.

Jury Duty Leave
All employees with proper court documentation will be allowed appearances as a juror when the employee must serve or is required to appear as a result of a court order or subpoena. The employee, if desired, is allowed to work a flexible four (4) hour day to receive half pay for each day of the jury duty or service as a witness. However, time off for court appearances as a party to any civil or criminal litigation shall not be compensated by ECS Controls, and the employee must arrange for time off without pay or use accrued vacation or personal leave for such appearances.

Military Leave
All employees in the active military reserves will be allowed two weeks unpaid leave to attend their active duty training obligations. Proper military orders must be provided to the company.

Retirement 401k Savings Plan
ECS Controls recognizes the importance of employees to plan and save for retirement, therefore, provides eligible full-time employees with a 401k retirement savings plan. This plan offers an employee the opportunity to save money tax free through the use of payroll deduction. Eligibility requirements are 21 years of age and more than 1000 hours worked annually. The plan allows tax-free employee contributions of up to 18% of wages. ECS Controls matches contributions of 50% of each employee's salary up to 4% of their annual salary. The company provides two (2) enrollments dates per year. The vesting period is five (5) years and invested savings are self-directed. Each full time nonexempt employees (hourly positions) who works on government contracts becomes eligible through their government provided fringe benefit package and will have these fringes offset by the qualified benefits offered by the company.

Profit Sharing Plan
The Company will always share in its successes. However, the company contribution is voluntary and is divided among all eligible employees. Eligibility requirements, prior to the enrollment dates, are 21 years of age provided there has been twelve (12) previous months of continuous service. The vesting period is five (5) years and invested savings are self-directed.

Health Insurance Plan
All full time employees are offered the company HMO health insurance plan. ECS Controls pays fifty (50) percent of each employee's monthly insurance premium. The employee is allowed to extend coverage to their family members at an additional cost to the employee. Eligibility begins after three (3) months of continuous employment.

Dental Insurance Plan
All full time employees are provided the opportunity to obtain dental insurance through a company sponsored group dental insurance plan. The program is a traditional program typically consisting of an 80%\20%, provider paid \ employee paid, schedule while utilizing dental services who are with the provider network. Employees can elect to obtain coverage through pre-tax payroll deductions. Eligibility begins after (3) months of continuous employment.

Vision Care Plan
All full time employees are provided with vision care examination every two years through the company HMO health insurance plan. Employees also receive a 20% discount off the provider's usual and customary charges for vision materials and supplies.

Prescription Drug Plan
All full time employees are provided with a prescription drug plan through the company HMO health insurance plan. Employees may expect to co-pay per prescription: approx.$20.00 for a generic name brand, approx. $30.00 for prescriptions on a standard listing and approx. $40.00 for premium name brand prescriptions.

Cafeteria Plan \ Section 125
ECS Controls offers all eligible full time employees the opportunity to participate in what is referred to as a "cafeteria plan". This plan allows the employee to pay medical and dental insurance premiums, with pre-tax dollars. Using the cafeteria plan can significantly increase your take home pay over the course of the year.

Workman Compensation Insurance Plan
ECS Controls provides all full time employees with workman's compensation insurance as required by the state of Virginia.

Disability Insurance Plan (Temporarily Suspended)
All full time employees are covered by a company paid short-term and long-term disability insurance plan. This program will provide coverage of 60% on a basis of your average base salary. The program provides coverage to you while you are off after company working hours, holidays, vacationing and weekends. Long-term Coverage begins after 120 days of incapacitation to work due to illness, injury, disease and pregnancy. Eligibility to enroll begins after three (3) months of continuous employment.

Life Insurance Plan
All eligible full time employees are provided the opportunity to obtain life insurance through a company sponsored group life insurance plan. Employees may elect to obtain coverage through payroll deduction. Eligibility begins after three (3) months of continuous employment. All full time nonexempt employees (hourly positions) who work government contracts are provided with a paid live insurance policy through their government provided fringe benefit package.

Accidental Death And Dismemberment (ad & D) Insurance Plan
All full time employees are provided the opportunity to obtain AD & D insurance through a company sponsored group insurance plan. Employees may elect to obtain coverage through payroll deduction. Eligibility begins after three (3) months of continuous employment. All full time nonexempt employees (hourly positions) who work government contracts are provided with a paid AD & D insurance policy through their government provided fringe benefit package.

Legal Assistance Program
All full time employees are provided the opportunity to receive legal assistance by paying a low monthly premium through a company sponsored plan. Employees may elect to obtain coverage through payroll deduction. Eligibility begins at enrollment renewal once per year. Newly hired employees may elect to enroll after three (3) months of continuous employment.

Employee Assistance Program
There are times an employee will have need for an advance on their payroll for a short-term advance loan. It is not the company policy to make advance payment of payroll wages. As a solution to this we have set up an account for employees to withdraw needed funds up to $250.00. This amount is withdrawn from the allotted funds set aside leaving a balance for which other employees may draw upon. Monies borrowed will then be repaid from the employees' payroll within thirty days. You will be limited to withdrawing from this reserve account to three times per year. There are no provisions for allowing an employee to withdraw either more than $250.00 per transaction or should there be an insufficient amount available remaining in this special account to have additional monies placed in the account to provide for the employee to draw upon.

Payroll Direct Deposit Program
We offer the employee an option with which to have their entire paycheck earning, or a portion thereof, deposited into a specified bank account. This is done with no charge to the employee. We believe this service will save the employee both time and trouble in depositing and managing their money.

Group Banking Program
We offer the employee an option of joining a Federal Credit Union. This institution provides many banking services with enhanced saving and checking programs, loans, investments and other services that surpass standard commercial banks. We believe this service will save the employee both time and trouble in managing their money and future.

Employee Discount Program
The company will offer employees the opportunity to purchase materials and other items it represents for an "at-cost-price". The employee will still be responsible for Virginia sales tax payable and tax will be added to the total cost. You may also receive a discount on the cost of labor for installation should the item purchased require it. All items purchased are absolutely NOT for resale to the general public.

Wellness Program
The company cares about the well being of its employee's health. We offer to interested employees a discounted membership to the local YMCA of Hampton Roads. You are a valued asset to this company and we believe a healthy body will support an active mind.

Education Assistance Program
The company will provide tuition assistance for the educational enhancement of the employee. Reimbursement will be based on a sliding scale equal to the passing grade received. To qualify, the educational matter to be studied must be related to the company business operations and to the employees job position. Assistance will not be provided for basic skills required in the particular field of employment of the employee. It will be decided on a case by case review as to when it is applicable to offer assistance to an employee who desires to increase their knowledge in order to advance within the company to another position level.

Company Sponsored Training Program
During your employment with us you will be involved with many exciting projects and challenges. We need to keep ahead of both the current technology and our competitors. The company prides itself on the resourceful and quick thinking of its owner and employees. We send qualified employees to specialized training classes to learn the skills necessary to competently represent, install, trouble shoot and train customers in the use of the system equipment.

Apprenticeship Program
This program is for employees who desire to enter our particular industry but do not have direct knowledge or experience. The program is a four-year course in training to be a computerized environment control installer. You will also be learning daily on the job in real time situations as to what is required to start and finish a project. The company will pay for the cost of tuition during all four years of the apprenticeship. Books required for classes are to be purchased by the employee. These books are good for the entire program and are useful even after graduation from the course. For all your hard work you will receive a journeyman card as a computerized environment control installer.

Child Care Assistance Program
ECS Controls recognizes the importance of affordable day care for its employees' children. This plan allows the employee to be repaid for childcare expenses with pre-tax dollars. Eligibility begins after three (3) months of continuous employment. Using the flexible spending plan can significantly increase your take home pay over the course of the year and help pay you back for child care expenses.

Expense Reimbursement Program
The company will reimburse the employee for monies he or she expends on behalf of the company. This includes purchases made at supply houses for material needed for job complete. Travel expenses for use of a personal vehicle will also be reimbursed on a flat fee per mile schedule. Reimbursement will be made to the employee within seven days of submitting an expense report.

Company Emblem Program
ECS Controls, Inc. is proud of its achievements and abilities and wants the public at large to know about us. Advertisement in various forms helps display our name to both current and potential customers. We want our company name to be seen as many times possible so there will be a building block for customers to recognize us and think of us as their first choice for service. The company will provide the field employees with three shirts every six months at no charge to employees. The company will also contribute half the cost (up to $300) for any merchandise that bears the company name and logo which employees purchase through company catalogs. We welcome your ideas and innovations as to how we may achieve greater notoriety and recognition. Sorry, no tattoos or body piercing will be allowed. Thanks for your extreme dedication and sacrifice anyway.

Company Vehicle Program
Qualified employees will be given a company vehicle to perform their duties for the company. All operating costs such as gas, insurance, repairs and maintenance are to be paid by the company. Employees are able to drive the vehicle home for use in commuting to and from work. IRS laws dictate employees are to pay taxes on this benefit. A simplified IRS interpretation amounts to three dollars per business day and a $750.00 maximum per year. Vehicle is not for personal use. Exclusions for company payment would include abuse, willful damage, neglect, careless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance and use for a criminal act. Employees who have been furnished with new company vehicles can enter into a shared five-year vehicle award program whereby the participating employee can receive a check for half the “Kelly Blue Book Private Party Value” at the end of five years provided they have maintained their company vehicle in accordance to the vehicle award contract.

Company Communication Program
ECS Controls, Inc. will provide qualified employees with a combination hand held two-way radio, digital cell phone that is also capable of receiving pages. The company will bear the expense of the monthly usage for radio and pager services. For certain positions the expense of the cellular charges is paid by the company. Employees not covered by the company may elect to utilize the cell airtime as they see fit for a small monthly cost of $20.00 typically.

You will receive a monetary bonus "finders fee" when you refer a candidate to the company and we hire them. You qualify for the referral bonus plan after the referred candidate completes ninety consecutive days' employment. It's that easy.

College Loan Assistance Program
Potential employees who are current college students nearing graduation or recent graduates may be eligible for loan repayment assistance. The amount for assistance will be on a sliding scale based on your graduating grade in the course major and field of study.

Relocation Expense Program
Employees with great skills and potential for our company are not always a commuting distance away. You may currently live in the Midwest as you read this description of benefits. If you have the skills and work ethics we are looking for then, upon acceptance of an employment offer, we will assist you with the expense of relocating to the Tidewater area. ECS Controls, Inc. will allot you $1,000.00 toward your expense and commitment to work with and for us.

Flex Time Program
Our employees are one of our greatest assets. We recognize that both the company and family place certain demands on your time. ECS Controls, Inc. offers the opportunity to work flexible hours, for short periods, with which to accomplish the goals of the company, family and individual. Due to the critical nature of certain positions we may need to review and adjust the time schedule requested.

Relaxed Workday Program
Employees can be rewarded for a "job well done". At the Presidents discretion you may receive a relaxed work day. A relaxed workday allows up to 2 hours for you to come in late or leave two hours early with pay. All employee birthdays will receive a relaxed workday, if they decide to work on their birthday.

Travel Expense Program
You will receive per diem travel expense monies when traveling to work sites beyond the company operations radius. This per diem will cover the cost of three meals. The issuing of a per diem relieves the employee of having to document and submit receipts for meal expenses. Should you be able to provide yourself with meal expenses below the per diem given, you may keep any overage. The company will provide payment for accommodation expenses directly to the establishment.

Government Contract Program
Employees meeting specified worker class definitions and work on job sites funded by particular government and/or state monies will receive Davis \ Bacon wage and fringe scale payment. These are typically, both separately and combined, are much higher than standard industry wages. To be eligible you must perform work on the designated location covered and be included under the established government classification.

Overtime Reimbursement Plan
Qualified nonexempt, hourly position, employees shall receive pay equaling one and one-half of their base wages for time worked in excess of forty hours in a company workweek. The employee will receive one and one-half time of the Davis \ Bacon wages when working over forty hours consecutively on a single government wage determination job.

Emergency On-call Plan
Qualified service technicians who are assigned weekend on-call emergency duty shall receive a minimum of two hours of over-time pay. If the employee is assigned on-call emergency duty during a company recognized holiday, the employee will receive an additional $50.00 added to their pay.

Medical Reimbursement Plan
ECS Controls offers all eligible full time employees the opportunity to participate in what is referred to as a "flexible spending plan". This plan allows the employee to be repaid for medical and dental insurance premiums, with pre-tax dollars. Using the flexible-spending plan can significantly increase your take home pay over the course of the year.

Professional Association Program
ECS Controls will pay for or reimburse the employee for membership dues related to a professional association. To be eligible the membership must be related to the company industry and relevant to the duties of the employee.

Severance Pay Plan
ECS Controls will provide two weeks, ten business days, of severance pay to the employee when the company determines an employee shall be relieved of their position. To be qualified the employee will not have given employer cause for termination such as but not limited to: neglect of duties, theft, embezzlement, sexual harassment, illegal drug use and similar offenses.
